These Winnipeg customers dreamed of opening up their kitchen to connect it with the rest of their home and create a stunning, comfortable space for entertaining. Starting from the initial design phase, Premier’s entire team worked carefully alongside the homeowners to understand, visualize and craft the changes they desired.
Lead Designer Charles Kimball worked to develop a kitchen renovation design based on the client’s inspiration for a light, modern space, with traditional elements from the past and present that will maintain their stylishness and usefulness well into the future. Charles coordinated with Construction Lead Warren Regier and Project Manager Shay Stimpson from the very first step, keeping project materials within budget and timelines on schedule.
Removing the wall between kitchen and dining room eliminates the kitchen’s sense of separation from the home’s other living spaces, forming an open, inviting area for entertaining guests. Within the kitchen, a custom island with seating for four bridges the gap between host and visitor. The island’s waterfall edge countertop unfurls down one side toward the floor, adding touch of contemporary elegance — a perfect counterpart for the ELK Lighting Chandelier above.
The room is lined with woody, sandy brown custom Delfino poly wrap custom cabinetry, providing the abundant pantry space essential for these homeowners. Warm pastel tones and sleek textures blend and create a soothing effect across the space, complementing the room’s radiant natural lighting and new LED pot lighting dotting the vaulted ceiling. Under cabinet lighting provides unobtrusive functional light for working surfaces throughout the kitchen. The new patio door with tall, broad windows lets even more sunlight seep into the room, fulfilling this client’s wishes for generous lighting.
Another necessity, the gorgeous KitchenAid gas range stove, matches the room’s new KitchenAid microwave and refrigerator in a subtle silvery finish. Paired with the backsplash tile, smooth white Caesarstone quartz countertops in Frosty Carina add a bright accent to the room’s soft, muted color scheme. The white Blanco Diamond sink in Siligranit blends seamlessly into the countertop beneath the matte Blanco Artona faucet. Underfoot, new Armstrong Enchanted Forest flooring alternates Forest Fog and Tender Twig, contrasting the room’s lighter decor with luxury vinyl tile in tasteful dark gray.
Using 3D Computer Aided Modeling, the design and build approach for this project was determined from the very first step. Premier’s design and construction teams worked together and communicated throughout, successfully avoiding any unnecessary revisions to the renovation plan. With Premier’s Integrated Project Delivery methods, these clients gained their ideal kitchen and entertaining space as they had envisioned, delivered on time and within budget.
